A group of French artists called Lá Hors De set to revive the traditional fairy-tale story of Little Red Riding Hood. They find the fairy-tale known by almost all Europeans save that different countries have different versions of the same story.

The second concert of archival music works titled Duets and Trios consisted of several baroque pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Haendel, Leclair, Tellemann, d´Astorga, and Rathgeber.

Unconventional unison of Košice State Symphony Orchestra and artists, who have close ties to the metropolis of Eastern Slovakia led to a concert witnessed by 1 500 spectators. Galaconcert Interface 2007 was the grand event supporting the European Capital of Culture (ECC) title.

NONpoetry project aims to establish ongoing literary evenings filled with high quality literature, which had been lacking in Košice for a rather long time. They will pose an opportunity to meet with reputable authors, which is a new phenomenon in Košice region, since there was no forum in the past for young aspiring authors to have noted writers confront their work, to meet with other authors and audience.

Board members of ECC 2013 project expressed full support to the implementation team at the third board meeting on October 17th. The board headed by the Mayor of Košice Mr. Knapík, consists of the representatives of universities, churches and the ecumenical movement, minorities, cultural institutions, as well as economic, social, and cultural arena of the city.

Two variable tapers and a movable stage became a part of Hlavná ulica in Košice as of Thursday night. British Council, IC Cultural Train and the association of architects KOD collaborated with the students of architecture and art, along with the project team of Košice's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2013, and created a project known as the British Council Creative Environment.

Košice branch office of Society of friends of children from children's homes Smile as a gift organized Project Fairytale for children placed in children's homes and foster care. This unique project served to support Košice's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2013.

 

On Friday, September 4th, 2007, gates of the military barracks opened after a long time. They welcomed wide public to witness the start of a month-long festival MOONRIDE. Military quarters had been subjected to a partial reconstruction, and the atmosphere of the event helped to pacify the anxious souls, which still held the memory of mandatory military service in mind.

16 mayors of cities in the Košice self-governing region expressed support for Košice's candidacy for
the European Capital of Culture 2013. They signed the memorandum on collaboration and support of Košice's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2013 at the city hall on Wednesday, and committed to a close collaboration to fulfill the ambition, which will be decided at the end of the year.

They are situated in the historical city centre, in adjacent streets, at the airport or the railway station.
The angels are standing by in parks or flying overhead surprised inhabitants and visitors.

 

Literary scientist and prose writer Stanislav Rakús comes from Western Slovakia. He made his way to Košice via Prešov where he studied philology, specializing in Slovak and Russian. He acknowledges Košice as one of the two principal cities of his life.
