Amphitheatre

Reconstruction of the amphitheatre will open a modern space for organising larger cultural events - concerts, theatre performances, film festivals (Mountain Film Festival, DOC in Documentary Film Festival), dance performances (Železiar, Šarišan - folklore ensembles) and folklore festivals (Košice Wine Festival, Festival of Sacral Arts) with the possibility for year round operation. The innovative and architecturally interesting design should become a landmark in the city of Košice.
Selected projects under preparation:
1. Concert 2in1 - a celebration of being awarded the title of European Capital of Culture in the form of a large gala concert (9th September).
2. Schengen Meridian - a music festival with the aim of connecting young people from 14 to 26 years from both sides of the Schengen border in order to become familiar with their traditions, culture, exchange of experience and, together, create a large international orchestra and choir (July).
3. Mountain Film Festival - a preview of current documentary films with an environmental theme (April).
4. Cassovia Folkfest - a folklore festival with international participation (May).
5. Prešovské jatky (Prešov Slaughterhouse) - premiere of the original Slovak musical (April - October).
