City park, Komenského/Moyzesova Park

The City Park investment project includes comprehensive reconstruction of original and building of new pathways, objects, reinforced areas, footbridges, benches, playgrounds, fencing, lighting and park architectural features. The project also includes revitalisation and renewal of greenery as well as planting new trees and shrubs. The investment project in Moyzesova and Komenského Streets includes the creation of a relaxation zone with the possibility to meet and spend free time on established cycle paths and an in-line skate path. A programme consisting of multi-genre events in public areas, sculpture symposiums, concerts of classical and modern music, mainly of a chamber nature (on the bandstand), reconstruction of historic scenes, Days of Košice events, lighting installations, White Night and other media projects and temporary installations will be adapted to meet this aim.
Selected projects under preparation:
1. White Night/ Nuit Blanche - a night of contemporary art in public areas at an unusual time and in an unusual place (October).
2. Košice imaginations - a multimedia plein-air performance in the City Park (June).
3. Sculpture and public space, Košice 1960 - 1989 - an exhibition reflecting sculptural activities in public areas in Košice from the 1960s to the 1980s, mapping period trends from fading figuration to abstraction, which has significant representation in Košice (April - August)
4. Via Cassa - a reconstruction of period scenes reflecting the history of Košice.
5. Street Art Communication - contemporary art in public areas (September).
6. Small cultural space in the city - experimental objects from ecological and recycled materials (June - September).
