KASÁRNE/KULTURPARK

Kasárne/Kulturpark is one of the two key projects of the Košice INTERFACCE 2013. It is a transformation of former army barracks warehouses of Cpt. Jaroš in Kukučínova Street in Košice into a creative district.

Kasárne/Kulturpark is a purpose-made building complex from the end of 19th century with industrial nature, which is set in the environment of a historical park and is located in the close vicinity of the city center (5 minutes - walking distance).

Kasárne/Kulturpark began its activities in the 2008 during the pilot phase of the preparations of the project Košice INTERFACE 2013 and after a partial reconstruction it was reopened in the second half of 2009.

Kasárne/Kulturpark comprises: cultural centre, centre for creative economics and city exhibition area, out of which only the cultural centre Kasárne/Kulturpark is presently actively carrying out its mission.

The centre for creative economics (concentration of subjects that focus on creative economics in one place) and city exhibition area will be opened after the overall reconstruction in the year 2013.
