Košice - Tourism Cluster

Košice is currently the favourite place to visit for Slovaks, Hungarians and Czechs who, on average, spend one day strolling on "Hlavná" (main street) and visiting cultural sites. Business travellers also significantly contribute to the number of visitors to Košice. In order to also attract tourists to Košice during the summer and at weekends, the first city type tourism cluster in Slovakia was established, entitled Košice - Tourism. Initiated by the Magistrate of Košice, it was established by 28 subjects including the City of Košice. Members include Košice hotels, restaurants, subjects providing tourism related services, Košice 2013 non-profit making organisation and several guides. Via the cluster, tourism can be directly influenced by those who benefit from it - entrepreneurs in tourism services - and who best know the needs and requirements of visitors.
