SPOTs

Will help to complete missing modern cultural infrastructures and new public services for suburban inhabitants. The result of the process will be reconstruction and building of seven multifunctional cultural spaces. SPOTs focus upon supporting community and social art in the suburbs and city parts: exchanger station workshops, festivals, workshops (dance, theatre, and painting), chamber exhibitions (Photo Art Centrum, Frontiere dedans, Míla Doleželová) and sports activities. SPOTs exchanger stations support the process of decentralising culture from the centre of the city to its outer parts.
Selected projects under preparation:
1. Pecha Kucha Night - original presentation of authors from Košice and the region in the area of architecture, the arts, design and sport (January).
2. Use the City Festival - an art festival in public areas (May).
3. "Rozmanitosť (Diversity)" Festival - an untraditional festival of minorities in Košice, organised in cooperation with MECEM (July).
4. Sídlisková paráda (Suburb Parade) - a periodic summer programme of community events with a sports, cultural and social programme (June).
5. Východná minúta (Eastern Minute) - a festival and creative workshops of 1-minute films with the theme "Centre/Periphery" (September - December).
