Coalition 2013+ members significantly support the Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 project

Two founding Coalition 2013+ members – U. S. Steel Košice, s. r. o. and Východoslovenská energetika, a. s. (Coalition 2013+ is the legal entities interest group) significantly support with their activities the Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 project.

David J. Rintoul, President of U. S. Steel Košice and Richard Raši, Mayor of the City of Košice, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. They agree on implementation of the Creative Factory project in one of the buildings in the Barracks/Culturpark grounds. This will be reconstructed as part of the Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 project.

The City of Košice undertakes in the memorandum to give the reconstructed building of the future City Exhibition Center in the Culturpark for installation of the Creative Factory project. This non-commercial undertaking will consist of technological installations designed to inspire children and young people to take a deeper interest in science, technology and engineering in a playful and interesting way, and to familiarize them with the different technological branches. The company U. S. Steel Košice will arrange construction of exhibits and coordinate their installation in the Creative Factory.

Východoslovenská energetika Košice (VSE), member of the RWE Energy Group, has agreed with the management of the Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 project team on its contribution to the success of the project and its activities, by ensuring effective cooperation with Professor Oliver Scheytt from Essen, who has valuable experience in managing the successful project of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010.

Professor Scheytt will provide the Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 project team with methodological assistance in project management, marketing and creative industries from December 2011.
