Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 starting a tour of Slovak cities

An untraditional multifunctional stand on wheels – KULTOUR 2013 – will visit five Slovak cities and will introduce the project of the future European Capital of Culture (ECOC) via a unique presentation and programme.  From 13th to 16th December 2011, they will gradually visit four Slovak cities (Bratislava, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Prešov).  Starting in Bratislava (13th december) and finishing its route in Košice (16th december), where the programme will culminate in an exhibition of ice sculptures. For this occasion, the ECOC team is currently seeking two part time employees.

The ambition of the KULTOUR 2013 project, an untraditional multifunctional stand on wheels, is to create a unique information and marketing tool which, as an independent, mobile unit, will provide the basis for open air presentations, art works or interactive communication with visitors based on games and new technology. The project will become the unique representative of the Slovak ECOC 2013 at selected large cultural, sports and social events in Slovakia.

“We need to extend the team which will travel with the stand to include two part time employees to provide supporting activities in each of the cities visited. We are looking for two students. We require them to be communicative, of a pleasant disposition and be willing to be a little chilly for a while in some of the squares,” said KULTOUR project manager, Jozef Môcik from Košice 2013, n.o. The non-profit making organisation is offering intensive work for one week in a unique team, an unforgettable experience and financial reward upon agreement. About the KULTOUR 2013 project

The design of the KULTOUR 2013 mobile stand is the result of the creative work of the architect, designers, graphic designers, performers and marketing experts. In the coming years, KULTOUR will travel to the following events: Pohoda festival, Grape festival, ŽakovicOpen, Easthetics festival, Summer in the Park, the International Peace Marathon in Košice, Two in One Concert, and others.

In 2011, KULTOUR 2013 will present the Košice – ECOC project in the wider region of Slovakia. The basis for presentation will be a stand on wheels with an untraditional and functional design as well as a many options for use and mobility which will indirectly refer to one of the main ECOC themes – creative industry.
