A special publication about figures in the area of art and culture from around Eastern Slovakia, who lived and created in the 19th and 20th Centuries. The European Capital of Culture 2013 project has selected four figures from Košice culture who significantly influenced culture at home and abroad. Literature is represented by Sándor Márai, visual art by Gyula Kosice, architecture by Ľudovít Oelschläger and film by Juraj Jakubisko. Another forty names will be added to the publication, mainly from Košice, Prešov, Bardejov, Levoča and Sabinov, as well as other important figures from other regions of Eastern Slovakia.
