The World Congress of the International Association of Art Critics AICA (Association internationale des critiques d´art), established under the patronage of UNESCO in Paris in 1950, is an event which takes place annually in one of the sixty one sections of member countries. It will take place in Slovakia for the first time in the Kunsthalle/Hall of Art in Košice and Bratislava. It is organised by the Slovak section of AICA in cooperation with ECOC 2013, AICA International, AICA Poland. Under the name „White places, black holes“, it will address the subject of discovering the unknown in regions of Central and Eastern Europe which have been less important to date in terms of global arts history. Many world renowned critics of current art, the history and theory of art will hold presentations at the congress. The congress will include a pre-congress architectural tour presenting the wooden churches of Eastern Slovakia and the pearls of medieval architecture in Spiš and small artistic interventions which will remind the scientific atmosphere of the congress of the basis and purpose of any critique. Congress schedule: 3 days in Košice, 2 days in Bratislava; post- congress in Krakow and Kiev. One of the main missions
of all AICA congresses in 2013 is to focus attention upon developments in the history of art in the wide Central European region as well as to monitor the development and commencement of communication with the Baltic, Asian and South American areas. The AICA congress will thus contribute to improving communication between countries in the European and non-European cultural area.

I am interested in submitting a paper proposal. Where and to whom do I remit this?
Also what are the themes for this AICA Congress?
Thank you kindly.
