The Convergences international festival of chamber music in Košice, established in 2000, has noticed a significant increase in the programme as well as the interest of the public and audiences in recent years. In its fifth year, the festival again wants to focus upon cooperation between top Slovak interpreters (many who are Košice born or graduates of the Košice Conservatoire) and, of course, it will bring extremely interesting guests from abroad especially for 2013. The festival will also bring new projects to the other Pentapolitana towns and therefore widen the choice for more audiences. The most important guests will include: the world famous vocal group from Britain, the Hilliard Ensemble, the prominent American string quartet, Fine Arts Quartet with cellist Robert Cohen, as well as an interesting guest from New Zealand, Horomono Horo, with Māori music, the Irish group Puck Fair, the Roma project After Phurikane, as well as the literary-musical presentation of Juraj Fándly, Hungarian composer Tibor Semzo and also, of course, renowned Slovak interpreters such as Igor Karško, Milan Paľa, Boris Lenko, Nora Skuta and others.
