Day of Košice 2013 at the (Aspic) Festival

This gastronomic – cultural festival held in Miskolc is a part of local tradition during the winter period. It offers the chance to get to know the excellent gastronomy and hospitality of Miskolc. The programme of the gastronomic part of the festival includes an exhibition and tasting of a wide range of aspic as well as other gastronomic specialities from local and surrounding areas. An aspic auction will be a competition for the best aspic presented at the festival. Within the cultural programme of the three-day festival there will be musicians, theatre and dance folklore ensembles, film screenings as well as folk creations by craftsmen from Hungary and abroad. On the occasion of the recent year of the traditional aspic festival and in order to strengthen the partnership between neighbouring cities on both sides of the border, Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013, n.o., has prepared a series of exhibitions in the Miskolc Gallery – the Architect Ľudovít Oelschläger – as well as an exhibition of young contemporary visual creations by artists from Košice. The Košice theatre, Thalia, will also perform. Within the rich, cultural programme, on Saturday, 23 February 2013, one podium will be dedicated to artists and arts groups from Košice.
