A unique festival of the complete filmography of Juraj Jakubisko (born in 1938 in Kojšov, not far from Košice), one of the most renowned Slovak directors, scriptwriters and cameramen, and a significant personality of our region and the European Capital of Culture 2013 project. This will be a marathon of Jakubisko‘s films from the first feature length film, Christ‘s Years (1967), to the latest historic epic, Báthory (2007). Apart from well known films, the audience will also be able to see films from his student days. Even whilst a student at FAMU, Juraj Jakubisko had already created great quality shots. The screening will not only take place in Košice but also in other towns of the Eastern Slovakia region within the Pentapolitana project. Apart from screening films, several accompanying events have been prepared for visitors to the festival. Juraj Jakubisko is writing his autobiography which will be presented for the first time and signed in person in Košice. There will also be a chat with art school students, film makers and the wider public, and not only about the development and new trends in the art of film making and about his plentiful film making experience. He will also visit Košice with his art pieces for the first time and visitors will have the unique opportunity to view or buy his pictures.
