The Musical Marathon creates an artistic contrast to one of the oldest sporting events of its type in Europe – the International Peace Marathon in Košice. Its aim, while the athletic marathon is taking place, is to present various forms of domestic interpretative arts directly in the city streets and therefore link the sporting event with simultaneous cultural projects. While it is taking place, the organisers wish to cooperate with European and local cultural institutions, artists, arts schools and the Culture Department of the City of Košice to create a „marathon of European cultures“. Lovers of music and dance can look forward to a musical stroll of almost 5 kilometres, during which participants can see
different genres on individual stages and, at the same time, stay connected to the whole marathon at various points along its route. This year there will be severalmusic/dance stages along the marathon route so musicians can spread rhythm and peace for runners and crowds in the interested audience. You can look forward to hearing various domestic and foreign groups.
