The history of Slovak theatre started in the town of Bardejov more than 500 years ago. Fifty-two actors then performed unique Mysteries lasting for several hours which at those times represented prestigious events. It is good to return to these traditions and thus develop cultural tourism in the region.

That is the reason for reconstruction of the medieval mysteries to be held at the same place using the same text performed 500 years ago. On that day, however, the whole town will go back to medieval times, in its exteriors as well as interiors. You will experience a medieval pilgrimage, burning of witches, prayers, musicians, knights, a court and real medieval disputations. At night young artists will perform Mysteries in a modern version. There’s a lot to look forward to.
