In co-production with Košice -2013 and other co-producers, the Divadelná Nitra Association is preparing a mini-festival of international documentary/ theatre productions for next year. The co-producers are: Germany (Clemens Bechtel), Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic (Aleš Březina, Jiří Nekvasil), Slovakia (Ľubo Burgr) and Romania (Giannina Carbunariu). The festival will take place during Divadelná Nitra (Theatrical Nitra) and afterwards, several plays will also be performed in Košice. The theme of the theatre documentaries is to date hidden facts collected by the Secret Police in the 20th Century. Parallel Lives – the 20th Century through the eyes of the Secret Police is a three-year international project (2011-2013) with the aim of creating theatre productions based on the investigation of materials in the archives of the Secret Police operating in the former states of the Soviet bloc during communism.
