The Pearls of the Gothic Route project – Concerts in St. Elizabeth‘s Cathedral will bring a unique concert to the Košice cathedral. In the fasting period before Easter, artwork with a holy theme – the Easter oratorio by Joseph Haydn, „Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross“ – may be heard. It will be performed by the world renowned Jordi Savall – famous violist, conductor and composer with his ensemble, Le Concert des Nations, who specialises in interpreting music from the Baroque and Classicist periods. Jordi Savall is the holder of a prestige Grammy Award 2011 and the MIDEM Classical Award 2010. He has more than 100 CDs to his name and he has been releasing them under his own label, Alia Vox, since 1998. The newly reconstructed St. Elizabeth‘s Cathedral, one of the investment projects of Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013, will commemorate the Easter holiday with grandeur thanks to this concert.
