The Pentapolitana MUSIC BAND 2013 project is a musical competition project for non-commercial music bands with the aim of supporting the creativity of young non-commercial, musical artists within the programme 3.2 of the European Capital of Culture 2013 project. Pentapolitana MUSIC BAND 2013 should also connect Eastern Slovakia towns via the musical creations of young, just starting and mainly non-commercial music bands, and give them space for their own creations which they will present in the music competition rounds at the beginning of 2013 in each Pentapolitana town. Then they will then proceed to a two-day final round in Košice (28 – 29 June) which will take place in the open air and will be joined with camping and other accompanying events. The aim of this festival is to support young musicians on their musical journey by giving them space for presentation and the chance to perform in concerts, to record a CD and video clip and bring them more quickly to the attention of fans. Pentapolitana MUSIC BAND 2013 is also an excellent opportunity to spot young, talented musicians who often do not have the opportunity or financial means to put across their music in the world of music alone.
