The Quasars Ensemble & Košice project focuses upon the presentation and spreading of world and Slovak classical music and Slovak interpretive art. The
aim of the project is to present the fruit of the ensemble‘ s activities to a „home“ Košice audience. The project is represented by five performances by the chamber group, Quasars Ensemble, with soloists Petra Noskaiová and Eva Šušková. The German accordionist, Stefanie Schumacher, will present her solo project. The opening concert of the festival will also be exceptional since the
renowned Japanese composer, Toshio Hosokawa, has accepted our invitation. The dramaturgical concept is the mutual comparison of top pieces by renowned world and domestic composers (mainly Košice authors), various nations, eras and styles by the mixed, alternating chamber ensemble cast. This event also wishes to commemorate a worldwide significant anniversary – 100 years since the birth of the English composer, Benjamin Britten and 200 years since the birth of Richard Wagner.
