The exhibition “Austria DESIGN – Surprisingly Ingenious”, a contemporary form of a young Austrian design. It uses the interaction between tradition and avant-garde design, technology and craftsmanship, while emphasis on sustainable use of resources to be customized for the consumer as well as the preservation and perfection of unique techniques. Thirty objects and collections of Austrian designers and companies engaged in industrial and interior design, furniture design and fashion design complement the video presentation in art and architecture.

The exhibition will be held in the pavilion White noise, which is a mobile multi-purpose space, designed by members of the Austrian team of architects – Soma for the city of Salzburg and later placed in Maribor, Slovenia – European Capital of Culture 2012. Aim of the location of the pavilion in Kosice Square of the liberators (Námestie osloboditeľov) is created a bridge the gap between consumer culture of today and the current high culture represented by art, music, design and architecture. The pavilion consists of simple, repetitive elements aluminum, merged into a single, light-permeable structure, which changes color depending on the angle of incident light. The pavilion reflects light, creating a false perception of shape and material.
