World New Music Days Festival

Dátum a čas:
Monday - 04. 11. 2013 - Friday - 15. 11. 2013 - Celodenná akcia

Place: Main festival – Košice, Bratislava, Vienna, accompanying
events – various towns around Slovakia

The ISCM World New Music Days Festival is the most significant worldwide preview of modern classical music. It takes place in a different country each year and in 2013 it will take place in Slovakia for the first time – as the jubilee 90th anniversary! We will hear the latest pieces of music from all over the world (for example, from Estonia, Argentina and Portugal) and we shall welcome the composers of this music. In the concerts, we will again meet the classicists who pre-determined the shape of music in the 20th and 21st Centuries, and their works are still relevant today. We will stroll around the
transformed city and pass through sound gates. We will cross our fingers for students from all over Slovakia and the Košice Conservatoire who will perform an interesting programme. One of the most interesting events will certainly be a concert by children since it will be heard not only in Košice but also in 60 other towns around Slovakia. The opening of ISCM World New Music Days 2013 by children will therefore be magnificent and unique. The Festival will travel in 2013 – from Košice to Bratislava and Vienna and whoever wishes can join us.
