White Night, literature and the blue wall/www.2010lab.tv

White Night festival, known as Nuit Blanche did bring art in miscellaneous forms on 32 stages. One of them was dedicated to literature. Beautiful atmosphere was created at the puppet theater Jorik. Live reading, video projection, performance… It was presented with less words and more images.

Four video projections and some lights have been used that evening, in order to satisfy visitor’s hunger for visuals. When everything was installed on the main stage, the last task was to run some videos on the wall in front of the entrance – to attract attention of people walking around. There were also two volunteers with flyers and the light box with the poster, so the video could be anything abstract.

Spacial geometric shapes, spanish mosaic patterns, coral fragments, flash cartoons and other video loops were screened along the books reading. So there was enough material to play with, however a technical problem occurred with the last beamer installation, first the laptop didn’t work, the cable was changed, the other laptop failed, the other cable was changed but nothing happened, just blue screen.

So a kind of punk solution came out of it (as to be seen in the video below). Of course, with keeping the original goal in mind, which was to entertain the public. Actually, when do people have a chance to enjoy the large area of solid color? Especially kids had lot of fun, it seems that parents had to give them sweets to take them home.
