Japanese kyōgen farce first time in Košice

The Little Kyōgen Theatre Brno, in cooperation with the European Capital of Culture – Košice 2013 and the State Theatre Košice – will present two Japanese farces, “Buaku” and “Boshibari”. “Each performance must meet three conditions – surprise the eye, please the ear and sound the heart…,” says Zeami Motokiyo.

One Day Jazz Festival first time in Košice

Slovakia is constantly experiencing a growing interest in jazz. Therefore, the One Day Jazz Festival organizers decided, in collaboration with the European Capital of Culture 2013, to bring the festival to East Slovakia for the first time in its history. On 26th February 2013 at 7pm, Košice’s Historic Town Hall will host performances by Frank McComb, Andrej Šeban Band, and jazz trio Depart Refire.

Quasar Ensemble will be resident at the Kasárne/Kulturpark in 2013

During their residency at the Kasárne/Kulturpark, the ensemble will mediate to Košice the top quality of the world’s contemporary music scene. Chamber concerts of the first half of 2013 will be held at the VojtechLöfflerMuseum, and then the concerts will move to the premises of the Cultural Centre after its reconstruction. The residential ensemble intends to create a permanent venue in Košice for a quality performance of chamber music of international standards.

The TRIANGO Project conceals a sparky embrace of the passion of dance-halls in Buenos Aires, as well as jazz improvisation.
